Quartile
Ad platform with a managed service team
What should you look for in a Quartile alternative?
Quartile is two things at once: an ad optimization platform and a managed service. It says every customer gets a dedicated strategist, backed by experts on each channel, who manages the account alongside them. So the first question is not which tool has more features. It is whether you want people to run your advertising, or software you run yourself.
If you want to hand the work over, look at other managed services and agencies. If you want to keep decisions in-house, look for software that does what Quartile's platform does (hourly bidding, dayparting, rules) without the service layer, and that shows its price before a sales call.
Shurq is built for that second group. It connects to Seller Central and Amazon Ads, reads hourly advertising data, automates bids and dayparting, and reports profit per product after Amazon fees, ad spend and cost of goods. It covers Amazon only, in 21 Amazon marketplaces, and Shurq Pro is $200 a month.
Profit matters because ad metrics alone can hide a loss. Example: a product sells for $30 and leaves $12 after Amazon fees and cost of goods, so its break-even ACoS is 40%. At 30% ACoS the ads cost $9 per sale and you keep $3. At 45% ACoS they cost $13.50 and every ad sale loses $1.50, even though ROAS still reads 2.22.

Does Quartile support hourly dayparting?
Yes. Quartile announced dayparting bid optimization on its blog on 20 June 2022: its algorithm uses Amazon Marketing Stream to adjust bids, budgets and placements through the day, and its Amazon PPC page describes automated hourly bidding. Shurq also automates dayparting from hourly Amazon data. A Shurq schedule sets a separate bid change for each of the 168 hours in a week, with placement adjustments and bid caps, and you can see and edit it.

When is Quartile the better choice?
- You advertise well beyond Amazon. Quartile's site lists Amazon DSP, Walmart, Instacart, Criteo, Google Ads, Microsoft Ads, Meta Ads, ChatGPT ads and TikTok Shop. Shurq covers Amazon sponsored ads only.
- You want a team to do the work. A dedicated Quartile strategist manages your advertising with you and meets you regularly. Shurq gives you a Customer Success Manager, but your own team runs the account.
- You need Amazon Marketing Cloud or Amazon DSP. Quartile offers AMC queries and audiences without writing SQL, plus AMC audience targeting on sponsored campaigns in its Pro Suite upgrade. Shurq has neither.
- You want promotions and listings handled for you. Quartile's Promo Management ties coupons, Lightning Deals and Subscribe and Save discounts to your ad strategy, and it has an SEO and listing optimization team.
- You want granular campaign structures built for you. Quartile describes single keyword, single ASIN, single match type campaigns, or optimizing the structure you already have.
When is Shurq the better Quartile alternative?
- You sell on Amazon and want to run PPC in-house, with automation handling the repetitive work: bids, dayparting, keyword harvesting and negatives.
- You want the price up front. Shurq Pro is $200 a month for 1 connected Amazon account, each extra account is $50 a month, team seats are free up to 100, and there is no percentage of ad spend.
- You judge advertising by profit. Shurq reports profit per product and marketplace, updated hourly, so a product whose ads look fine on ROAS but lose money after fees shows up.
- You want to try it before any contract: a 30-day free trial with no credit card.
- You want seller tools in the same login: rank tracking for up to 9,000 keywords, Market IQ reverse-ASIN lookups, inventory forecasting and reimbursement-opportunity detection.
